About mixed populations?

As the human population increases, the number but not necessarily ratio of people in poverty will increase, also, sometimes at a higher rate, especially when the economy is bad as it is right now. Areas that were once prominent will be occupied by poor people, who are more likely to commit crimes for survival/drugs.
