First electric guitar advice?

Considering buying my first electric guitar. Been playing a Stagg electro acoustic for 3 years now and now I'm looking for something that will give a fully electric sound. My influences in playing are quite varied. I'm into a bit of classic rock, metal and my favourite band would probably be Dire Straits. Looking for something in the price bracket of �100-200. Advice would be appreciated! Thanks guys xD
